Apply for the Cancer-focused Summer Undergraduate Research (CanSUR) program at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center for a unique, immersive experience designed to prepare you for a career in cancer research.

Program Components 

  • Hands-on mentored cancer research experience including project development, execution, interpretation, and reporting of results. 
  • Week-long “cancer research boot camp” devoted to interactive cancer research lectures. 
  • Weekly lunches organized around scientific and career enhancement topics. 
  • Dinner with fellow students, scholars, and residents to learn about diverse cancer career opportunities. 
  • Presentation of final research project findings at CanSUR Scholar Symposium.

Program Highlights

  • CanSUR supports 40 undergraduates for a 10-week period (June through August). 
  • Scholars receive a stipend of $5,000 for the summer. Additional housing and travel allowances are available for select participants. 
  • Students from across the country get to work, learn, and play in Cleveland, Ohio—the "Rock & Roll" city known for its leading hospitals, dedicated sports teams, unique museums, and beautiful parks and beaches
