Submit your research proposal now to the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) for Summer 2021.

About UROP

UROP offers funding to University of Minnesota undergraduate students to work on a research project with a faculty mentor. UROP provides a stipend of up to $1,500 for approximately 120 hours of research.

To Apply:

In order to submit a complete application, you will need:

faculty mentor information

project title, project description and goals, project significance

timeline, background experience

funds requested and an itemized budget, if requesting expense money

project proposal of up to three pages that explains your research question, methodology, research plan, and expected outcome(s) to be uploaded at the end of the application.

You also can make an appointment with a Peer Research Consultant who can demystify the research process, help you figure out how to get started with research, go over deadlines and next steps, and answer general questions.

Summer 2021 applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 22. There will be an additional deadline for Fall 2021 projects on Monday, June 28.
